Educational Assistant Term Positions
The SVSD invites applications for the following Educational Assistant term positions effective September 6, 2022 to June 29, 2023:
Bowsman School - 6.0 hours/day
ÉSRSS – 3 X 6.0 hours/day, and a 6.0 hours/day from September 6, 2022 to January 31, 2023
Heyes School - 6.0 hours/day, 5.0 hours/day, and a 5.5 hours/day
SVRSS – 3 X 6.0 hours/day, and a 5.5 hour/day
CRITERIA FOR APPLYING
Required:
- Ability to speak English to a level that enables the candidate to communicate effectively with students.
- An ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
- A willingness to become part of a cooperative working team, and to respect the confidentiality that is necessary regarding student situations and school programming.
- A Grade 12 diploma and a desire to work with children with special educational needs.
- Promote positive social interaction.
- Experience in working with students who require behavior intervention plans and individual educational plans.
Preferred:
- Relevant postsecondary training
- Willingness to be flexible regarding hours of employment, at the discretion of the principal, so as to accommodate the needs of students.
- Computer literacy
