School Administrative Secretary – TERM position 

The SVSD invites applications for the position of School Administrative Secretary at Minitonas School, effective September 1, 2022, to the earlier of June 30, 2023, or return of the employee on leave.   

Duties include but are not limited to, and other duties as required: 

  1. PowerSchool Data Management
  2. Record Keeping
  3. Administrative and Guidance Support
  4.  Document Preparation
  5. Communication with students, teachers and families
  6. General Office duties
  7. Bookkeeping/Accounting 

Desired Qualifications:

  • minimum Grade 12 
  • a team player with good organizational, communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to complete assigned tasks in an independent timely manner
  • strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • software or data management information systems experience such as the use of PowerSchool or any other data management system 
  • intermediate level of MS Office and ability to work in a computerized environment
  • two years of demonstrated, related experience
  • bookkeeping/accounting knowledge and use of accounting software 

Work Week: 10-month position, 30-hour week, exclusive of school breaks. Occasional evenings may be required.

SVSD Administrative Assistant – 0.50 FTE  

The Swan Valley School Division invites applications for the position of Office Assistant to support the operations of the Division Office. 

Duties include but are not limited to effectively performing a variety of administrative and clerical/accounting support duties for multiple staff in the Division Office. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Applications 
  • A team player with good organizational, interpersonal skills, and the ability to complete assigned tasks in an independent timely manner
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
  • Experience providing customer service to the public, in person, over the phone, website, Facebook, etc.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Experience in managing/maintaining paper and electronic files/records would be an asset
  • Software or data management information systems experience would be an asset
  • Bookkeeping/accounting knowledge and use of accounting software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Recognized completion of Grade 12 and/or an Office Administration Certificate/Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Manitoba Driver’s License 

Closes:  July 8, 2022, 12 Noon

Hours:  17.5/week Monday to Friday (under review) 12-month position
