Our History

The original school was built in 1959 and began as a high school, the Swan River Collegiate.  With the construction of a new high school called the SVRSS in the fall of 1972, our school became the Swan River Junior High (SRJH) and was home to students in Grades 7-9.  French Immersion was added in 1989 and the SRJH was renamed École Swan River South School (ÉSRSS) to reflect this change.  We were very proud to have received a comprehensive renovation in 2016 where the exterior of the school was redone and new, larger classroom windows were added.
