School News
Welcome everyone, this fall the SVRSS is excited to begin classes, extra-curricular activities, field trips, and all other regular school routines.
The first day of school for all grade 9 and new students will be on Thursday September 8th. We will be hosting a Welcome Barbeque for students and parents starting at 11:45 am in the cafeteria. Followed by a short parent/student meeting at 12:30 pm in the cafeteria.
School resumes for all students Friday, September 9th. Student schedules were mailed for this school year along with the June 2022 report cards this past July. Another copy of the student schedule will be provided on the first day of school. Additionally, the power school portal for students and parents is open to view schedules.
Various school sport tryouts and practices are already scheduled. Please, see the SVRSS website for specific sport information Sports (svsd.ca).

Dear SVRSS Students, Parents and Guardians,
I want to thank you for the continued support from you our school community this past year. Because of our teachers, staff and wider community involvement and volunteering our students have benefited greatly, thank you. Together we strive to ensure our students have opportunities to learn, grow and succeed. I look forward to this continuing. Below I have included some of the important notes that will help your family prepare for this next academic year.
June Report Cards:
Report cards can be picked up Monday to Friday July 4th-8th from the SVRSS main office, 8:30-4:00pm daily. If report cards are not picked up by next Friday, July 8th they will be mailed.
Returning outstanding textbooks and devices:
Outstanding textbooks and devices can be returned to the SVRSS until July 8th, office hours will be from 8:30-4:00 pm daily. After July 8th, please deliver these items to the SVSD office which will be open 8:00-3:30 (closed for lunch 12:00 to 12:45) Monday-Thursday each week over the summer.
Incompletes:
If you have been assigned an incomplete credit, please refer to your report card for information about how to complete this credit. This work will be assessed in the fall.
Graduation items:
Copies of grad pictures can be picked up from the SVRSS main office until July 8th. The grad video link will be emailed out next week which you can download if you would like. Office hours will be from 8:30 to 4:00 until July 8th. If not collected at this time they will be mailed on July 8th.
2022– 2023 School Year:
The SVRSS main office will reopen on Monday August 29th.
Schedules are included in with the report cards. If there are any questions in regards to your schedule for the upcoming school year Mrs. Badowski, and Ms. Barabash will be available by appointment on Wednesday, August 31st and Thursday, September 1st , 2022. Please call the main office at 204-734-4511 as of 8:00 am August 29th to arrange an appointment.
Classes begin for Grade 9 and new students only Thursday, September 8th.
All other students first day of classes will be Friday, September 9th.
Student Supports:
Over the summer if you need any support please know that there are supports available in regards to your child’s mental health, a local resource is Swan River Public Health at 204-734-6660 and one Manitoba resource is: Kids Help line: 1-800-668-6868.
