Programming Consultation Results and Opportunities

Swan Valley School Division is nearing the conclusion of its programming consultations. This process has included the Board of Trustees meeting with staff from all seven schools, as well as hosting public meetings in each of our four communities. An overview of the Division’s strengths and challenges, which was shared during these sessions, can be viewed at https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:US:d8a4b2c6-e17c-4d7b-9eef-2fbac5c14842

The central focus of the consultations has been listening. Trustees and divisional leaders gathered feedback on what community members believe the Division should stop, continue, and start doing to better support students and enhance programming across SVSD.

The Division was pleased to receive 430 pieces of feedback from our community. On Tuesday, March 4, the Board of Trustees will review this feedback and use it to inform our ongoing work and decision-making, including development of the 2026–2027 budget.

Community members can still provide feedback until Sunday, March 1, 2026, by visiting: https://forms.office.com/r/AJ72LyNakh

After the Board’s review, the Division will release a summary of the feedback along with any next steps SVSD will be taking in response.

The Board of Trustees will host our Public Budget Consultation on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend either:

On Monday, March 9, 2026, the Board will hold its regular meeting, where the public can hear an update on the budget process and ask questions.

Anyone wishing to make a formal presentation may contact jhansford@svsd.ca to be added to the agenda.
