Bowsman Students Participate in Swan Valley Tour Band

The SV Tour Band just returned from a music & fun-filled trip to Red Deer, AB.   The students had been meeting and practicing after school since mid January.  The 30 member group headed by Ms Turton, Mr Hemmett, and Mr Matejka, was comprised of students in grade 6,7,8 & 10 from ESRSS, MMYS, SVRSS & Bowsman Schools.  They played 3 concerts at schools along the way, took in a band workshop at the University of Saskatchewan, and performed at the Alberta Festival of Bands.  All performances were outstanding and well received by their audiences.  The students also spent time exploring and playing at the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, as well as competed in a SV Tour Band Amazing Race which was full of crazy and interesting challenges around the park in Red Deer.  It was a long bus ride home, but lots of great memories travelled home with them.  The 3 Bowsman School students who participated reported enjoying the opportunity!  Keep tuned to find out where the Tour Band will go next year!
