SVSD is accepting quotes to dismantle/take down the above towers and equipment. Cement base to remain. Tower bases to be cut flush with the cement such that no sharp edges remain. Work to be completed by July 31, 2018 or as mutually agreed and when school is not in session.

Also looking for an offer for each tower, if interested in purchasing them, as is where is. We make no representation to age, condition, etc., of each tower. If interested in purchasing the equipment and cables currently on each tower, please submit a bid describing items being considered.

The contractor shall be responsible for the protection of all existing site features, including landscaping, paving, sidewalks, etc., and for the protection of all exterior and interior building elements. The contractor shall make good any damage to these elements caused by any portion of the work including the failure to provide protection from inclement weather.

The contractor shall comply with the Provincial/Federal regulations on construction safety measures under the Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations for Construction Projects, erect/dismantling of towers, etc., the local authority having jurisdiction, and all other applicable codes and by-laws. 

Contractor’s Comprehensive Liability Insurance: To protect himself and indemnify and save operations under contract. Minimum comprehensive coverage to be $2,000,000.00. Owner harmless from any and all claims which may arise from the contractors. Successful bidder to add Swan Valley School Division as an additional assured.

The bidder should examine the project site before submitting a bid, either personally or through a representative and shall satisfy himself as to the nature and location of the work, local  conditions, the equipment and facilities needed preliminary to and during the prosecution of the work, the means of access to the site, on-site accommodation, all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and circumstances which may affect his bid and all other matters which can in any way affect the work. The bidder is fully responsible for obtaining all information required for the preparation of the bid, as well as any permits/fees that may be applicable.

The Division will be responsible for removal of the cement base, but the successful bidder must ensure there are no protrusions, sharp edges, anchor bolts, etc., protruding creating a hazard. Also must weather proof the holes in the building when/if any cables have been removed. All work to be coordinated/scheduled with the Division at times mutually agreed to.

The owner reserves the right to accept the bid which is deemed most advantageous. The lowest bid to dismantle and the highest bid to purchase the surplus towers, equipment, cables or any bid will not necessarily be accepted.
