Jocelyn was raised in the farming community, Belleview, Manitoba, and graduated from Reston Collegiate Institute. She attended Brandon University, graduating with a Bachelor of Education in May of 1994. That fall, Jocelyn began her teaching career in Benito School, teaching Kindergarten half-time, where she remained for nine years. During this time, while raising her boys, she also substituted in other schools in the Swan Valley School Division. In 2003, Jocelyn began teaching Grade 1 and 2 full time in Benito. While working full-time, she completed her Masters of Special Education from Brandon University in August of 2017.
Jocelyn, her husband Michael, and their two sons reside in Benito. Michael is an Area Marketing Representative at Richardson Pioneer; Keegan is in the Industrial Mechanic Apprenticeship Program at University College of the North and working at Louisiana Pacific; and Kristen is in the Bachelor of Physical Education Program at Brandon University. Jocelyn enjoys running, reading and painting, and as a family they enjoy sports and many outdoor recreational activities.
After nearly twenty-four memorable years of teaching in the classroom at Benito School, Jocelyn is very excited to begin a new role as an administrator.
