Educational Assistant Positions

The SVSD invites applications for the following term positions effective September 8, 2021 to June 29, 2022:             

Bowsman School - 6.0 hours/day – Educational Assistant (September 2021 – June 2022)

Heyes School - 6.0 hours/day – Educational Assistant (September 2021 – December 2021)

Ecole Swan River South School - 6.0 hours/day Educational Assistant (September 2021 - June 2022)

Swan Valley Regional Secondary School - 6.0 hours/day - Educational Assistant (September 2021 - June 2022) 

Taylor School - 6.0 hours/day – Educational Assistant (September 2021 – June 2022)

Criteria for applying –

Required:

  • Ability to speak English to a level that enables the candidate to communicate effectively with students.
  • An ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • A willingness to become part of a cooperative working team, and to respect the confidentiality that is necessary regarding student situations and school programming.
  • A Grade 12 diploma and a desire to work with children with special educational needs.
  • Promote positive social interaction.
  • Experience in working with students who require behavior intervention plans and individual educational plans.


Preferred:

  • Relevant postsecondary training
  • Willingness to be flexible regarding hours of employment, at the discretion of the principal, so as to accommodate the needs of students.
  • Computer literacy

Criteria for applying –

• ability to speak English to a level that enables the candidate to communicate effectively with students
• ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions, including technology
• willingness to become part of a cooperative working team and to respect the confidentiality that is necessary regarding student situations and school programming
• Grade 12 diploma
• ability to work well with children at all grade levels with special educational needs
• promote positive social interaction

Preferred:
• relevant postsecondary training
• experience working with children with special educational needs
• computer literacy
• willingness to be flexible regarding hours of employment, at the discretion of the principal, so as to accommodate the needs of students.
• willingness and means to travel to outlying community schools in Benito, Bowsman, and Minitonas.

Application forms are available at the Division Office. Please also submit resume and references. Starting salary is $16.74 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.
