Educational Assistant 

The SVSD invites applications for the following positions effective September 4, 2019.

 ESRSS – 6.0 hours/day – ability to support Grade 8 Math and English Language Arts

 Heyes School – 5.5 hours/day – experience required to support a student with Special Needs

Criteria for applying 

Required:

 An ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
 A willingness to become part of a cooperative working team, and to respect the confidentiality that is necessary regarding student situations and school programming.
 A Grade 12 diploma and a desire to work with children with special educational needs.
 Promote positive social interaction.
 Experience in working with students who require behavior intervention plans and individual educational plans.

Preferred:

 Relevant postsecondary training
 Willingness to be flexible regarding hours of employment, at the discretion of the principal, so as to accommodate the needs of students.

Application forms are available at the Division Office.  For those who have completed an application in the past six months, indicate in writing if you wish to be considered for these 
Positions.  Starting salary is $16.17 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.

SVSD invites applications for Educational Assistant Substitutes.

Criteria for applying –
Required:
• ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions, including technology
• willingness to become part of a cooperative working team and to respect the confidentiality that is necessary regarding student situations and school programming
• Grade 12 diploma
• ability to work well with children at all grade levels with special educational needs
• promote positive social interaction

Preferred:
• relevant postsecondary training
• experience working with children with special educational needs
• computer literacy
• willingness to be flexible regarding hours of employment, at the discretion of the principal, so as to accommodate the needs of students.
• willingness and means to travel to outlying community schools in Benito, Bowsman, and Minitonas.
