The basic principles of design are explored with emphasis on creative thinking. Original ideas are expressed visually. Students learn what looks appealing and how to best present their ideas. Different design software programs are explored.
8382 DRAWING 20S
Students learn to make realistic perspective drawings, visualize objects in 3D, and draw figures correctly. Step-by-step computer drawing methods are explored.Students are also introduced to Animation.
8385 ILLUSTRATION 30S
Various techniques are explored using different illustration tools. Professional methods of drawing freehand are learned. Still life, figure drawing and cartooning are included. Computer illustrations are also explored with programs like Illustrator, Painter and Photoshop.
8384 PRODUCTION ART 20S
Students learn professional methods of traditional as well as digital advertising. Students are introduced to 2D, Classical Animation and Video.
8387 TYPE DESIGN 30S
Students construct accurate letterforms of the major types styles, and select the best typefaces for certain jobs. The eye is trained to see subtle optical effects and illusions. Custom type designs are created in “Illustrator” and page layout in “In Design”. Fontographer is also used to create individual typefaces and Flash for moveable type.

create characters, and animate the characters.
8396 DIGITAL IMAGING 40S
In Digital Imaging students learn how to take esthetically pleasing digital photographs and how to manipulate these images to communicate an idea clearly. Advanced Photoshop techniques is mastered.
8389 TYPOGRAPHY 40S
This course focuses on the role played by type and the design techniques used to gain the most out of the printed word. Page layout and brochure design is explored with computers. Students are exposed to “real” jobs.
8390 GRAPHIC DESIGN 40S
Students are exposed to “real” situations in the business of graphic design. Business practices are taught and students prepare their own stationery and forms and use them with actual clients on jobs.
8393 APPLIED ADVERTISING ART 40S
Advertising strategies and sales promotion are studied and applied in creating a unique advertising campaign for a given product. Students prepare a portfolio to present to employers.
8395 ANIMATION 40S
The Student is introduced to the professional methods of classical, 3d, Claymation and digital animation. Traditional and Digital methods of preparing animation are studied. Student skills are demonstrated in the creation of a fully animated movie.
8379 GAME DESIGN 40S
In Game Design student will learn advance Flash action scripting for Game Development and will study games from existing sources. Student skills are demonstrated in the creation of a fully functional game.
8480 TELEVISION PRODUCTION 30S
Students will acquire advance skills or professional video editing. Students in TPR will learn Advance video compositing, animation, video effects, audio mixing, video capture. This course will use Final Cut Pro.
8485 APPLIED ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS 40S
Students in AEC will learn to efficiently produce motion graphics and visual effects for film, video, multimedia, and the Web. Students will explore the creative possibilities of motion graphics and visual effects for video in a 2D environment using Motion.
