Students learn to make realistic perspective drawings, visualize objects in 3D, and draw figures correctly. Step-by-step computer drawing methods are explored.Students are also introduced to Animation.

Various techniques are explored using different illustration tools. Professional methods of drawing freehand are learned. Still life, figure drawing and cartooning are included. Computer illustrations are also explored with programs like Illustrator, Painter and Photoshop.

Students construct accurate letterforms of the major types styles, and select the best typefaces for certain jobs. The eye is trained to see subtle optical effects and illusions. Custom type designs are created in “Illustrator” and page layout in “In Design”. Fontographer is also used to create individual typefaces and Flash for moveable type.
